Vasu Abhiraman

Vasu Abhiraman is the Helen Rosenthal Senior Counsel for the Building the Bench program at Alliance for Justice. In this role, he serves as a dedicated advocate for diversity and inclusion in the federal and state judiciary, working collaboratively with a coalition of organizations to identify and recruit potential candidates for the bench.

As an attorney and a former software engineer, Vasu has spent his career working at the intersection of law, policy, technology, and democracy. In his previous role as Deputy Director of Policy and Advocacy at the ACLU of Georgia, he launched the nationally-recognized Poll Worker Recruitment Program that recruited and trained thousands of poll workers and deputy registrars to safeguard the democratic process during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vasu holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law.
