Justice Program Coordinator


Lauren is a Justice Program Coordinator on the Justice Team, where she supports the day-to-day continuity of program operations.

She coordinates logistics across AFJ’s federal courts, state courts, and Building the Bench initiatives, while closely assisting the Program Director with various projects.Lauren recently graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. Her senior capstone project, entitled “Latina Labor: On Transnational Mothering and Domestic Work Flows,” combined these fields and explored the intersections of domestic labor, immigration patterns, and race in Los Angeles. During her academic career, she was actively involved with DC Reads, providing literacy tutoring to elementary students in Southeast DC. She also worked as a program aide for the Youth Ambassadors Program at Georgetown’s Center for Intercultural Education and Development and contributed to Lauinger Library’s Technical Services team.

Prior to joining AFJ, Lauren served in Teach For America’s DC Corps, teaching 4th Grade ELA and Science at Rocketship Rise Academy in Ward 8. Driven by her belief in equal justice and access, she is enthusiastic about supporting AFJ’s work to advance progressive values through the courts. Lauren is based in Washington, DC, and on weekends enjoys bullet journaling, watching movies, and spending time with her puppy, Millie!
