Butler has spent the last 17 years practicing at Phelps Dunbar LLP, where he focuses on appellate, constitutional, and employment litigation. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the Mississippi College School of Law. Prior to joining the firm, Butler clerked for Judge Leslie Southwick of the Fifth Circuit, whose seat he has been nominated to fill.
