On February 18, 2026, President Trump nominated Jeffrey Kuhlman to the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. 

Biography

Kuhlman is from Great Bend, Kansas. He earned a B.A. in History from Kansas State University in 2012 and a J.D. from the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School in 2015.

Legal Experience

After graduating from law school, Kuhlman spent two years clerking for U.S. District Court Judge Eric Melgren. Following his clerkship, he entered private practice, litigating cases in a variety of areas. In 2020, he joined the Kansas law firm Watkins Calcara, where he is now a partner. During his time at the firm, Kuhlman’s practice has focused on civil litigation and municipal law.
