Introducing Our New Bolder Advocacy Website

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 16, 2018 – The Alliance for Justice Bolder Advocacy team is thrilled to announce the launch of our new, updated and streamlined website. The new site offers one-stop shopping for nonprofits, foundations, the press and members of the public in search of comprehensive information about how nonprofits can be aggressive advocates for their missions — while staying within the law. The site is a strong component of Bolder Advocacy’s mission to empower nonprofits with the tools they need to be the most effective advocates they can be.

“This new website responds to a strong need we identified in the nonprofit community,” said Bolder Advocacy Director Abby Levine. “Nonprofits and foundations have so many questions about advocacy, including how and when they are allowed to lobby elected officials, what political activities they can take part in during an election year, how laws vary from state to state, and more. With this website, we are putting all this information at users’ fingertips. We’re very excited because we think nonprofit leaders are going to love the site when they see how much easier it makes their jobs and how many options they have to advocate for their cause.”

The new site comes at a critical time, as nonprofits and foundations are exploring advocacy options in an election year. Bolder Advocacy believes it’s vital this year, and every year, for nonprofits to use advocacy to make their case to elected officials and the public so their priorities will get the attention and resources they deserve. Advocacy work includes a whole range of activities, from research and public education to lobbying elected officials and voter engagement. And while nonprofits face some legal restrictions on the advocacy activities they can undertake, the list of allowable activities is extensive and offers many opportunities for nonprofits that know their options.

The new Bolder Advocacy website is a place where users can search a robust collection of how-to’s, fact sheets, and reports, as well as connect with a coach for one-on-one technical assistance. Key features of the new site include:

• A new Resource Library that makes it easy to find the tools you need for successful advocacy, with helpful filters to narrow the list based on your needs;
• A stories page that highlights the real impact of nonprofit advocacy;
• Streamlined navigation so it’s easier to get around the site;
• Improved search functionality to find what you need quickly;
• A fresh new design featuring images from real-life trainings and highlighting our latest resources and news.

The Bolder Advocacy team is proud of our history of helping nonprofits obtain the tools and the confidence to advocate effectively. We are lawyers, coaches and nonprofit experts with one big goal: to make advocacy easy and accessible for nonprofit and foundation leaders so they can make the best use of critical dollars, expertise and staff.
