Emily Harting
Director of Foundation Relations
Emily Harting joined AFJ in May 2022 as the Director, Foundation Relations. In this role she is responsible for stewarding, cultivating, and growing the portfolio of generous foundation supporters that make AFJ’s work possible.
Before AFJ, Emily founded EBH Development Consulting where she assisted nonprofit clients including Demos, PEN America, and others, build their communications and development plans. Previously, Emily served as the Director of Development and Communications for Literacy Partners and Citizens Union. Before these roles, Emily was the Associate Director of Development at the Center for Constitutional Rights (an AFJ member) for over a decade where she more than doubled the foundation support for the organization’s work during her tenure. Early in her career she held development and communications roles at Global Nomads Group, the National Voting Rights Institute, and the Trust for Public Land’s New England Regional Office.
Emily has a BA from Trinity College in Political Science. In her free time, she enjoys travel, cooking, container gardening, and working in animal rescue in her home city of Brooklyn, NY.
