Legal Experience

Dudek began his legal career as a law clerk in multiple courts, including the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit of Virginia (2010–2011), the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York (2012–2013), the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (2013–2014), and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit (2014–2016). From 2016 to 2022, he worked in the Tort & Insurance Litigation Group at Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, where he was elected a stockholder in 2016.

As a litigator, Dudek frequently represented law enforcement officers in civil rights lawsuits:

  • Harris v. Wingo, he defended officers accused of false arrest, First Amendment retaliation, and excessive force. The case was affirmed on appeal in 2023.
  • Andrews v. Marshall, he defended officers following a traffic stop that led to a civil rights suit. The case was also affirmed on appeal.
  • Pinto v. Rambosk, Dudek represented deputies accused of targeting a plaintiff due to his ethnicity. Despite a complex record and unfavorable witness statements, Dudek won summary judgment and prevailed on appeal.

In 2022, he was appointed as a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of Florida.
