On May 23, 2024, President Biden nominated Karla Campbell to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. 


Campbell earned her B.A. from the University of Virginia in 2002 and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2008. Since 2009, she has been of counsel at the law firm, Stranch, Jennings, & Garvey, PLLC.

Prior to joining the firm, Campbell was an attorney at Watson & Renner, as well as a law clerk for Judge Stranch on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

A true movement lawyer and economic justice judge, Campbell has a diverse professional background in civil litigation, appellate practice, labor, employment, and ERISA.  She is currently a member of the American, Tennessee and Nashville Bar Associations; the board of directors of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee; the American Constitution Society, Nashville Lawyers Chapter; and the Lawyers Association for Women, Marion Griffin Chapter.
