Pratt clerked for Judge Harvey Schlesinger (M.D. Fla.) and Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod (5th Cir.) and interned for Judge Jeffrey Sutton (6th Cir.). - He supported litigation against gender identity protections, including representing a physician assistant fired for refusing to use appropriate gender pronouns.
- In his writing, Pratt has argued for expanding Second Amendment protections to public universities and certain government properties and defended legal opposition to gender identity accommodations in academic settings.
- During his time at First Liberty, the firm was involved in key Supreme Court cases: Carson v. Makin, Kennedy v. Bremerton School District, and Groff v. DeJoy—all of which expanded religious liberty protections.
- He is a member of the Federalist Society and has published legal commentary on First and Second Amendment issues.
