On August 12, 2025, Donald Trump nominated Edmund G. LaCour to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. He was confirmed on October 29, 2025.

Biography

Edmund G. LaCour received a Bachelor of Arts from Birmingham-Southern College in 2007, a Master of Philosophy from Trinity College Dublin in 2008, and a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School in 2011.

This is the second time Trump has nominated LaCour for a judicial seat. In June 2020, he nominated him to the District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.
