On January 6, 2026, President Trump nominated Chris Wolfe to the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He was confirmed on April 20, 2026.


Biography

Born in Lubbock, Texas, in 1972, Wolfe studied at McLennan Community College (1994) before earning his B.A. from Baylor University in 1995. He then earned his J.D. from Baylor Law School in 1998.

Legal Experience 

Wolfe worked as a summer associate at three firms: Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr P.C. (1996), Touchstone Bernays LLP (1997), and Cowles & Thompson, P.C. (1997). He then joined Cowles & Thompson as an associate (1999–2000) before joining the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney (2000–2003). Afterward, he joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division, first as a Special Assistant United States Attorney (2003) and then as an Assistant United States Attorney (2003–2008).

Wolfe then joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota as an Assistant United States Attorney (2008–2010) before moving back to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division, to once again serve as an Assistant United States Attorney (2010–2017) and then as Deputy Branch Chief (2017–2018). Wolfe then joined the 213th District Court in Fort Worth, Texas, as a State District Judge (2018–present).
