Our new series, Practical Guidance – Nonprofit Voter Assistance, created in partnership with The Democracy Capacity Project, is designed to help you choose the activities that make the most sense for your civic engagement and GOTV programming.

By helping you avoid activities where state law restrictions create dangerous ambiguities or prohibitions of certain actions, efforts can be redirected towards making your programs bolder, more effective, and operationally easier to execute.

Who are these guides for?

• Nonprofit Advocacy Organizations: Leaders and staff of nonprofit organizations that work on (or are thinking about working on) voter engagement initiatives at the state or local level
• Lawyers: Lawyers and compliance professionals interested in working with nonprofit advocacy organizations doing state and local level work
• Funders: Funding organizations working to ensure strong organizational capacity and infrastructure for the groups they fund doing GOTV work at the state and local level
