Trump Remarks on SCOTUS Can’t Hide His Real Agenda

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 28, 2017 – In response to President Trump’s remarks tonight, in which he urged the Senate to confirm his nominee for the Supreme Court, Neil Gorsuch, Alliance for Justice President Nan Aron released the following statement:

“President Trump said tonight that he has chosen a Supreme Court nominee who will defend the Constitution. In reality, what the president wants is a justice who will think like he does and rubber-stamp his priorities. And that means a pro-big-business, anti-worker, anti-LGBTQ, anti-woman, anti-immigrant agenda that will make life much harder for millions of everyday people. The President is urging the Senate to move quickly on this nomination; we are urging Senators not to give in to the pressure to rush, but to take the time needed to fully examine the record of a nominee who poses a grave threat to our rights and freedoms.”
