Today’s GOP Pep Rally Signals Anxiety on Gorsuch

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 29 2017  – In response to the press event held today by Senate Judiciary Chair Charles Grassley, at which he insisted that Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch should be confirmed in the coming days, Alliance for Justice President Nan Aron released the following statement:  

“Senator Grassley’s pro-Gorsuch pep rally suggests that Republicans are feeling a high level of urgency, even anxiety, about the need to push this nomination over the finish line.  Every day, more Democratic Senators are coming out with statements of opposition to Gorsuch and his terrible record of putting big corporations ahead of the rights of everyday people.  The American people also know that Gorsuch would be a reliable vote on the high court for big business and special interests, and today’s PR stunt by Senator Grassley and GOP cohorts doesn’t change that.”
