Thomas’ concurring opinion contains numerous falsehoods, including the assertion that being transgender just means that someone experiences gender dysphoria. Gender dysphoria is the psychiatric diagnosis for the distress that comes from one’s sex assigned at birth and gender identity not aligning, but some trans people do not experience it, while others may experience it but never get a formal diagnosis for various reasons.
