Kavanaugh’s Full Record Must Come to Light

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 13, 2018 – Following today’s Senate Judiciary Committee meeting on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, Alliance for Justice President Nan Aron released the following statement:

“In today’s markup, Senate Democrats made themselves clear: They aren’t done fighting. They filed motion after motion to subpoena individuals and records that are critical for the Senate and the American people to properly evaluate Brett Kavanaugh. It is outrageous that Senate Republicans not only continue to hide Kavanaugh’s full record but also today changed longstanding Committee rules to limit debate on the nomination. Senate Republicans want to push Kavanaugh through with as little information and as little debate as possible. We can’t let that happen. A lifetime seat on the Supreme Court is too important to settle for anything less than a complete review of Brett Kavanaugh’s full record and fulsome debate regarding the harm he will cause if he is confirmed, to our health care, reproductive rights, and protections for workers, the environment and consumers and to the rule of law.”
