Katsas Confirmation Puts Trump Stamp on Influential Court

WASHINGTON, D.C., November 28  – Following the Senate vote to confirm a top White House attorney, Gregory Katsas, to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, AFJ President Nan Aron released the following statement:

“The confirmation of Gregory Katsas to the D.C. Circuit puts Donald Trump’s stamp on the nation’s second highest court for decades to come. Katsas has been one of Trump’s closest legal advisors and bears responsibility for some of the most egregious actions of this administration, from the travel ban, to the attacks on LGBTQ Americans, to undermining health coverage, rolling back DACA, and more. Katsas will be one of the administration’s best allies on the D.C. Circuit, but he will be no friend to millions of Americans whose lives will be affected by the court’s rulings.”
