Contested Election Resources for Nonprofits
This election season has been the most unusual — and uncertain — in recent memory: record numbers of people voted early, those voting on Election Day will have to contend with pandemic-related precautions, and, according to NPR, “2020…may be the most litigated election ever.”
The fights over how people can vote, and which ballots will be counted, are continuing for the foreseeable future. Considering this, how can nonprofits support a fair election? What can they do and say about uncertain—and contested—results? And, what can private foundations do?
Bolder Advocacy’s new resources — factsheets, podcasts, and webinars — cover both what nonprofits and private foundations can do during the period of time after voting has stopped and before a candidate is declared a winner (whether national, state, or local).
