AFJ Supports Second Impeachment of President Trump

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 13, 2021 – In the wake of last week’s armed siege of the Capitol by Trump insurrectionists, the House of Representatives is now following through on a second impeachment of the president in his final days.

Alliance for Justice President Nan Aron released the following statement:

“President Trump’s rejection of the election outcome, supported openly or tacitly by almost all of his Republican allies in Congress, is a major attack on our democracy. His incessant calls to circumvent Joe Biden’s decisive victory incited his supporters to commit the violent raid on the Capitol that cost lives, and similar threats loom on the horizon for inauguration and beyond. We applaud Speaker Pelosi for recognizing the need to hold Trump accountable, regardless of how much time is left in his term. For our nation to move on, it is not enough to treat the symptoms Trump has wrought; we must properly remove the cause.”
