Judge Jackson Triumphs In Historic Confirmation Hearings

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 23, 2022 – Today Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson completed the questioning portion of the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing to consider her confirmation to the Supreme Court. Senate Republicans repeatedly yelled, interrupted her as she tried to answer their questions, and blatantly accused her of being a liar. They even attempted to lecture this first-generation beneficiary of the civil rights movement about racism, behavior unbecoming of their offices.  They continued to use Judge Jackson’s confirmation hearings to air disturbing and inaccurate conspiracy theories, denigrating the Senate’s advice and consent process. Nevertheless, Judge Jackson rose above the fray to demonstrate what an incredible justice she will be on the Supreme Court. 

While Senate Republicans tried to paint a narrow and false narrative about her record, Judge Jackson repeatedly demonstrated her mastery of the law and her incredible temperament. She took every attempt to besmirch her reputation and turned them into new opportunities for the American public to admire her patience, intellect, and grace under fire.

At all times, she has comported herself with grace and dignity. Judge Jackson has more than risen to the occasion; she is clearly ready to be the next great Supreme Court justice.
