Blasey Ford Shows “Grace, Courage and Integrity”

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 27, 2018 – Following Dr. Blasey Ford’s testimony this morning before the Senate Judiciary Committee, detailing the sexual assault committed by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, AFJ President Nan Aron released the following statement:

“The effort by partisan politicians to destroy Christine Blasey Ford’s credibility failed utterly today in the face of Dr. Blasey Ford’s grace, courage and integrity. This brave woman told the truth about her assault by Brett Kavanaugh, even as Republicans tried to turn this into a shabby show trial by hiring a professional prosecutor. If Republicans were serious about finding the truth they would insist on the FBI investigation that Dr. Blasey Ford and others have asked for, but they won’t. They would have called Mark Judge to testify, but they didn’t. We suspect this is because they have no real confidence in Kavanaugh’s story or his veracity, and neither can the American people. This nomination cannot go forward.”
