Mary K. Costello

On June 12, 2024, President Biden nominated Mary K. Costello to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She was confirmed on September 17, 2024.

Biography

Costello earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from Temple University in 1998, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2001.  Prior to college, Costello served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years.

Legal Experience

Following law school, Costello worked as a litigation associate in Philadelphia, first at Sauel Ewing LLP and then at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. In 2008, Costello joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where she has garnered over fifteen years’ experience working as an Assistant U.S. Attorney.
