On December 4, 2018, Alliance for Justice hosted our 2018 Champions for Justice Gala in NYC and were joined by two extraordinary women: Champion of Justice honoree Roberta Kaplan, known for her successful representation of Edie Windsor in United States v. Windsor, which led to marriage equality; and Sally Yates, former Deputy Attorney General who made headlines for refusing to defend Trump’s unconstitutional travel ban. It was a truly inspiring evening, attended by more than 400 members of the legal and advocacy communities. We were also privileged to hear remarks from Tony West, Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Uber; Deepak Gupta, Founding Principal, Gupta Wessler PLLC; Joshua Matz, attorney at Gupta Wessler PLLC and Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP; and Hilary Rosen, Partner, SKDKnickerbocker.
We’d like to thank all of our sponsors who helped make the evening a huge success and made a commitment to AFJ’s Justice Programs. Without your support, our work would not be possible. A special thanks to Uber, who served as the corporate chair of the evening.
Please enjoy the photos and videos from our very special event!
