Marianna Garcia is the California Program Manager for AFJ’s Bolder Advocacy program, providing administrative and programmatic support to its West Coast Programs. Committed to empowering underserved communities through policy change, she brings extensive community policy advocacy and outreach experience in the fields of health, immigration, and education. Marianna has worked in regional and statewide campaigns to advance immigrant health care access in California, designed and evaluated health prevention programs for Los Angeles County residents, and coordinated community-based participatory research. Through her work, she hopes to support nonprofits and foundations strengthen their role in advocacy efforts and policy change.

A native of San Diego, Garcia earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UCLA. On a day off, you will find her teaching yoga, exploring the outdoors, enjoying a good book, or seeking a new adventure.
